The Government has announced that New Zealand has moved to Alert Level 4 – Eliminate, in response to the escalating COVID-19 pandemic. This places restrictions on various day-to-day activities of New Zealanders and businesses.
As an importer and retailer of petroleum and other fuel products, Mobil Oil New Zealand Limited (Mobil), is considered to be an essential business under the Civil Defence and Emergency Act 2002. As such, we are required by legislation to continue to provide the essential fuel needed to support New Zealand’s essential services and keep transport and freight moving.
This means that at Alert Level 4, our essential facilities and offices will continue to operate, and operations staff will continue to work on site as necessary, with the appropriate precautions in place.
Mobil is confident that we have implemented procedures across all of our facilities, including deep cleaning, reducing workforce density and other social distancing measures, which mean that our workplaces are some of the safest places to be during this time.
There are currently no impacts to Mobil’s supply of fuel as a result of COVID-19.
